Transparency In My New Adventure

wild magazine (2016)

Hey Friends and family ❤ You may have noticed that my tone and posts have changed a little bit on Instagram and Facebook. I am all about transparency! So this post is dedicated to shedding light on what I do and my new business adventure!

My new role is credit consultant / small business owner / credit literacy educator / financial advisory agent / Life coach. I have a background in psychology, community support, coaching and many years in the customer service industry both in call centers as well as in person. I also have an extensive medical, insurance and technology, teaching and education background. Upon graduating with my Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science in 2018, I started up a community for blended families and step parents on Instagram (@mamabearblendedfamilysupport)… soon after I started up this website and blog! I also have a Facebook Group (@mamabearblended).

In short, for the last 3 years I have done nothing but help people online and in person. It’s my passion to help improve the lives of others and provide the necessary support along the way, so this business decision seemed the natural next step!

I was introduced to United Credit Education Services (UCES) and the UCES Protection Plan, through a friend of mine. We go way back to my college days, when I was a server in 2012. He is one of my favorite and most cherished friends. Someone I’ve through the years, known to be one of the realist, truest people I know. So when he posted a Facebook status about the fact that his credit score jumped over 100 points in just a 60 day period – with time and effort / commitment to the program… I was interested! – Like many others are!

Long story short, I’ve used a credit restoration service before – but like many others, I was young, inexperienced, uneducated and unmotivated to do the work / follow the steps to actually improve my credit.

All it took was some bad financial moves, no back up reserve, and new credit as an 18 year old newlywed… as well as lots of unforseen and unpreventable life experiences… before I knew it I was in over my head.

I signed up for a credit restoration service, paid the initial fee, and probably two or three months worth of installments. I was working full time and overnights as a Home Health Aid in Washington State, my husband was active duty in the military. I was never home and neither was he, and then I got pregnant with my daughter – our first and only child (together). Suddenly, my credit score and debt were less of a priority.

The program didn’t work for me in 2005… with no effort from me… (understandable)… so I stopped using the services and stopped paying. In 2007 I filed bankruptcy. I had a 2 month old, I was only 20 years old… and I permanately scarred my credit report for 7 years guarenteed.

I didn’t file bankruptcy because it was the cheapest option… just the easiest for someone young and uneducated in credit restoration and consumer rights/ laws. The attorney’s fee and filing costs in 2007 for a chapter 7 bankruptcy was $1,400… up front. Hard to come up with that all at once in order to get the ball rolling on something that basically proves beyond a reasonable doubt that you cannot repay your current debt… right?

Just to put this into perspective… The monthly fee for the credit restoration services I paid for back in 2005 was $50 a month. The services I provide today, through my company (UCES), is $89 a month. That’s less than $3 a day ($2. 87 a day). Just to gauge how long you might keep services – people typically use the services for anywhere from 3 to 6 months to improve their credit score (although we offer an array of other services that are also available to you 24/7 through our website, and you can choose to continue your Protection Plan for as long as you desire.)

National Debt Relief

After the bankruptcy I still had to build my credit. That was long and hard. I didn’t have the financial literacy to do it without help… I went the unpaved hard route and ended up with a little debt and a shitty car (it was the only thing I could get approved for)… eventually I succeeded and bought my first home at the age of 22 with a credit score of 725.

Fast forward to today… 2.5 kids later, new life, new husband, new debts (student loans, late payments, medical debt, you name it… I’ve been through it… and survived) But it’s no doubt that things have been rough on everyone. 2020 especially.

I was interested in improving my credit score and financial situation. In between jobs with multiple offers on the table… I decided to take a different route to accomplish my goals. I was tired of the 9-5, trying to work around my children and familial needs, and constantly having to sacrifice something to make little to nothing… with a degree!

After talking to my friend about UCES and the credit restoration services he was using that were providing results faster than I’d ever seen them before with my own eyes… I had a conversation with his mentor – A Regional Sales Director in the company. I was captured by the thought of staying home, earning an income, working to improve my situation, and being able to work with my friend again!!!

All my questions were answered, all my fears subsided, and as much as my new mentors say they “snatched me up” after our first 1.5 hour conversation (LOL) I was all in. Committed to making this work and achieving the goals I set for myself.

I will say, that results are not guaranteed (because everyone’s situation is different/ unique), and this business/ product/ service is not for everyone. Maybe the career doesn’t interest you, you already have your own gig that’s working out great for you, or you just aren’t interested in the services that are available. If that’s the case, then I appreciate you entertaining my posts and recommending me to those you know who are looking to get out of a tough situation! ❤ You will be supporting a small business and a boss lady!
