When are we going to stop looking at the individual as having a problem and instead look at everything surrounding and impacting the individual?
In general we see this all the time… but most especially in child custody cases; Where one parent is targeted and put through a whirlwind of emotions, traumas, and extenuating circumstances… then judges, attorneys and professionals play the other side by pointing and declaring “Look, he/she is mentally unstable!” Acting oblivious to the reasons why and implanting doubt about what the individual is “hiding“
It’s a gross manipulation of the psyche to play cause and effect with people’s emotions, manipulate memories, inflict trauma and then hold the individual completely accountable for their mental health.
It’s irresponsible, especially after a case as big as Amber Herd vs. Johnny Depp, not to look at the situation surrounding the individual as well as the other party’s’ general claims and behavior, in an attempt to gain clarity by backing up and taking a look at things macro prospective.
In the day and age we are in, we should all (law professionals and normal Joe blows alike) be looking for the full picture instead of letting those with micro perspectives to sway us into ignoring other perspectives. A good rule of thumb is: If an individual must convince you to look at only a section of the issue up for debate, their goal is to keep you from questioning their logic, the ability to hear or correct historical fallacies, and identifying others causes for concern.
We must keep our minds open, and identify those who seek to close our peripheral view. After all, the forest would not be complete without the koala, and the koala 🐨 couldn’t live without the forest 🌳
